I am a sociologist, blogger, and fiction writer with a keen interest in, well, in lots of things. Here on Medium I chose to focus on two of those interests: social science literacy and social change.
The first subject is really about helping people think critically about social problems, including how to solve them and how politicians and pundits talk about them. That's what Social Pollution Prevention is about. I lean pretty far Left, but I do try to keep these articles balanced.
The social change subject reflects my interest in helping nonprofit leaders and activists make change happen, and raise money. If you can't finance your ideas, does it matter if they are good ideas? I've done lots of reading and writing on digital marketing, fundraising, brainstorming tools, and so on. I even used some of what I learned in my own work. You'll find some of what I learned in The Science of Nonprofit Marketing.
Note that I also sell some handy checklists and guides on nonprofit digital marketing (including fundraising, advocacy, social marketing) in my Etsy shop, ToolsforActivists.
